Matt Dauby: Hitting, Defense

This is Coach Dauby’s second stint at Bash. He was with us for a few years prior to the Pandemic and we’re very happy to have him back.

Matt played his high school ball 3 hours from Chicago in Carmel, Indiana. A shortstop at Cathedral High School, he earned All-City honors twice and was selected All-State his Senior year.

Prep Baseball Report ranked him the #1 shortstop in the Midwest Region for the class of 2012.

He went on to play middle infield at Virginia Tech, where he lettered all four years and was the Hokies’ starting second baseman when they were the #1 seed in the 2013 NCAA Tournament.

Matt is one of the top defensive teachers in the Chicago-area.
