Dan Dworkin, Hitting, Pitching, Defense
Coach Dan grew up in Westchester, New York and played his high school baseball at Briarcliff High School.
A lefthanded pitcher, he also played outfield and first base. But by his junior year, his pitching was the number one priority for his team.
Dan went to the University of Iowa and decided against playing varsity baseball there, opting instead to play on the club team. He pitched against tough Big 10 club hitters, all of whom would start on any Division 3 college team and some very capable of playing at the D1 varsity level.
While he may not have the playing resume of some coaches, Coach Dworkin has honed his instructional skills, starting to coach kids when he was just 16 years old. He has worked with players of all ages, from 7 - 18, teaching private lessons and classes, as well as coaching travel teams in New York, Iowa and Illinois. Most recently he has been coaching at Top Pick, an academy in Sugar Grove, Illinois.
Coach Dan holds a degree in Elementary Education and Communication — both pretty handy to have as a baseball instructor. We’re excited to have him with us.
