Ricardo Ramirez, Hitting, Defense
Ricardo Ramirez is a Bash alum. While in high school at De La Salle Institute, he regularly hit with Victor “Pops” Diaz, a fixture at Bash almost since we opened.
At De La Salle, Coach Ramirez was a three-time letter winner in baseball and was named First-team CCL All-Conference his junior and senior campaigns. He was the Chicago Catholic League (CCL) Lawless Player of the Year, and first-team All-Area his senior year, after batting .446 with 10 home runs and 43 RBI.
After high school Ricardo played 1B and 3B for the University of Illinois – Chicago. At UIC, he was a part of two Horizon League Conference Championships and one NCAA Division 1 regional (2017), and was also a Horizon League first team selection in 2016.
Ramirez first signed a professional baseball contract with the Traverse City Beach Bums in the Frontier League, then went on and signed with the Pericos de Puebla part of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB). He also participated in the Liga Invernal Mexicana (LIM) and Liga Norte de Mexico (LNM)
Ramirez received his MBA from Roosevelt University in 2021, where he was a Graduate Assistant for the baseball program from 2019-2021.
